Across the UK and many other countries, city centres once filled with independent shops are now dominated by large multiples. Online, the same pattern is repeating — faster and more invisibly. A few giant platforms decide what is seen, what is promoted, and who survives.

This is not about blaming anyone.

Big platforms are efficient, well-built, and useful. But when convenience becomes habit, habit becomes dependency.

So Free Life exists to encourage something simple: pause, and choose.

We believe:

• shopping should not always default to one place
• small sellers and individuals deserve attention
• anyone can build a shop, not just corporations
• independence matters, even in small decisions

This site will gradually become a space for:

• books (new and used)
• independent selling
• ideas about freedom, choice, and simplicity

You don’t need to abandon large platforms.
You only need to remember that they are not the only option.
